چکیده
Aquaponics is a promising cultivation technique for combined production of crops and fish, on the condition tackling certain nutrients deficiencies. The aim present study was to examine limitations imposed by system spinach (Spinacia oleracea) growth functional performance identify minimum nutrient supplementation their optimization. Spinach co-cultivated with red tilapia under three treatments; iron (Fe) potassium (Fe+K) enrichment compared no-external input control. During 45-day experiment, photosynthetic performance, machinery efficiency, total chlorophylls content, leaf reflectance were monitored, along nutritional state, antioxidant activity, responses fish crops. Control plants showed symptoms Fe deficiency, extensive chlorosis, stunted growth, impairment already from day 10. latter consisted coordinated down-regulation photochemistry, carboxylation, light-use efficiency. Fe-treated exhibited similar Fe+K-treated but outperformed them in chlorophyll rates, photochemical mainly due higher quantum yield electron transport. Fish remained unaffected. Fe-deficiency identified as major bottleneck closed-loop aquaponics, our results demonstrate that only may sufficiently improve function yield.

abstract fertilizer use efficiency (fue) is one way of improving the fertilizer management in agriculture. in this study, spinach (spinacea oleracea) was used as a case study vegetable to determine its nitrogen use efficiency in varamin, iran. an experiment was conducted using split plot design with three replications. treatments included of five levels of n as 0, 150, 200, 250 and 300 kg ha-1 ...
متن کاملMaize productivity and nutrient use efficiency in Western Kenya as affected by soil type and crop management
Low soil fertility and high weed infestation are the main culprits for the declining maize production inWestern Kenya. Technology packages to address these constraints exist, but their effectiveness is likely to be influenced by variability in soil types and farm management practices in the region. Trials were conducted during the 2008/2009 cropping seasons to investigate the nutrient use e...

Invariably, many agricultural soils of the world are deficient in one or more of the essential nutrients needed to support healthy plants. Acidity, alkalinity, salinity, anthropogenic processes, nature of farming, and erosion can lead to soil degradation. Additions of fertilizers and/or amendments are essential for a proper nutrient supply and maximum yields. Estimates of overall efficiency of ...

Tumor hypoxia has been reported to be a negative prognostic factor in a number of tumor sites. Both clinical and experimental studies have suggested a positive correlation between tumor hypoxia and increased metastatic efficiency; however, the mechanisms are not understood. In this study, the mechanisms of hypoxia-enhanced metastasis have been investigated in murine KHT fibrosarcoma and SCC VII...
